Intan Paramaditha hidup berpindah kota dan negara selama lebih dari satu dekade. Ia mendapat gelar doktor dari New York University (2014) dan mengajar Kajian Media & Film di Macquarie University, Sydney. Karya fiksinya adalah kumpulan cerpen Sihir Perempuan, nominasi pendek Khatulistiwa Literary Award 2005; Kumpulan Budak Setan, proyek kumpulan cerita horor bersama Eka Kurniawan dan Ugoran Prasad (2010); serta naskah pertunjukan teater Goyang Penasaran (Teater Garasi, 2011-2013). Ia memenangkan penghargaan cerpen terbaik Kompas tahun 2013, dan beberapa karyanya telah diterjemahkan ke dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Jerman. Antologi cerpennya dalam Bahasa Inggris, Apple and Knife (terjemahan Stephen J. Epstein), diterbitkan oleh Brow Books (2018). Novel Gentayangan terpilih sebagai sastra prosa terbaik Tempo 2017 dan akan diterbitkan dalam bahasa Inggris oleh Harvill Secker/ Vintage (2020).

 

Intan Paramaditha has lived in different cities and countries for over a decade. She received a Ph.D from New York University (2014) and is now a Lecturer in Media and Film Studies at Macquarie University, Sydney. Her fiction work includes the short story collection Sihir Perempuan (Black Magic Woman), shortlisted for the Khatulistiwa Literary Award 2005; Kumpulan Budak Setan (The Devil’s Slaves Club), a horror anthology co-written with Eka Kurniawan and Ugoran Prasad (2010); and the play Goyang Penasaran (Obsessive Twist), performed by Teater Garasi (2011-2013). She received the 2013 Kompas Best Short Story Award, and some of her stories have been translated into English and German. Her short story collection in English, Apple and Knife (translated by Stephen J. Epstein), was published by Brow Books (2018). Her novel Gentayangan was selected as Tempo Magazine’s Best Literary Work for Prose Fiction and will be published in English by Harvill Secker/ Vintage (2020).
